Description
Marlboro County Government seeks a contractor to design and install a compacted (rammed) aggregate pier ground-improvement system and construct the associated concrete ring-wall foundation for a 225,000-gallon tank. Work includes delegated pier design and calculations, a demonstration pier with load testing, production pier installation, site preparation, foundation construction, backfill and compaction, quality-control testing, and documentation. The foundation must meet stated bearing-pressure and settlement criteria and comply with the geotechnical report and final foundation design. Bidders must provide a lump-sum price for the full scope and unit prices for aggregate pier installation and demonstration/test piers. The bid response must include firm qualifications and at least three comparable project references from the past five years, a proposed work plan and schedule, proof of general aggregate and liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance of at least $1 million each, the completed bid form, a proposed pier-system narrative and design approach, anticipated site access/dewatering/staging needs, and any exceptions or qualifications. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site tour are required. The selected contractor will be responsible for materials, equipment, labor, supervision, applicable permits and fees, and worksite safety; the project is subject to inspection.
