Description
Stockton East Water District seeks a qualified contractor to provide granular activated carbon (GAC) replacement and regeneration services for eight dual-bay gravity filters at the Dr. Joe Waidhofer Water Treatment Plant. The work includes removing and disposing of approximately 20,736 cubic feet of spent GAC during the first two years; supplying, transporting, and installing approximately 20,736 cubic feet of virgin GAC; and subsequently removing, transporting, custom-regenerating, reinstalling, and replenishing GAC through up to four regeneration cycles per filter during years three through ten. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, disposal, testing, disinfection, and technical services. Requirements include domestic bituminous-coal-based GAC meeting specified AWWA, NSF/ANSI 61, Food Chemical Codex, and ISO standards; manufacturer-owned and operated NSF-certified reactivation facilities; at least 15 years of relevant municipal experience; a mandatory site visit; manufacturer-employed field personnel; and a two-year guaranty bond equal to 25% of the value of replacing the existing filter media. Proposals must include the specified company, licensing, subcontractor, reference, pricing, and contractor-type-of-work information.
