Description
The City of Douglas is soliciting a qualified, properly licensed contractor to perform asbestos abatement, complete demolition, debris removal, environmental compliance, and lot restoration for the approximately 10,114-square-foot former Boys and Girls Club building at 210 Jackson Street. The scope includes removal and disposal of identified asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic, containment, air monitoring, clearance testing, permits and notifications, demolition of the building and associated components, handling of regulated materials, utility coordination, waste transportation and disposal, and protection of adjacent property and infrastructure. The contractor must backfill, grade, stabilize, and clean the site after demolition and provide required disposal records, manifests, permits, clearance documentation, and closeout records. Bidders must submit a lump-sum price covering labor, equipment, materials, testing, permits, transportation, disposal, insurance, bonding, and all other project costs. A performance bond equal to 100% of the contract price is required from the successful bidder, along with specified insurance coverage. The bid package requires three copies and includes City-provided bid and compliance forms, company information, references, affidavits, and certifications. Bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the property, with site visits scheduled through the Purchasing Agent and completed no later than one week before bid opening.
