Description
The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center requires one portable, one-person-operated ultrasonic pulse-echo device for nondestructive testing and measurement of concrete-layer thickness. The device must include a 3 x 8 transducer array, laser positioning point, flight-safe battery pack, protective carrying case, operating manual, interactive field 3D visualization, testing depth up to 6.5 feet, 25–65 kHz frequency bandwidth, and 0.1-nanosecond measuring resolution. The acquisition also requires an additional power supply, additional transducer channel, two data acquisition devices, and data-processing software capable of exporting raw data and producing 3D views and wide panoramic B-scans. The software must support trial-and-error adjustment of operating settings, and the device must be rugged enough for military contingency environments. The vendor must provide evidence that the device has been used by governmental and nongovernmental research organizations. Delivery is required within 30 calendar days after award.
