Description
Clemson University is seeking bids for a fixed-price contract to provide emergency fiber optic cable repair services. This includes responding to cable cuts or outages caused by natural events (ice, wind, trees, tornadoes) or man-made damage (construction, digging). The contractor must have skilled technicians capable of repairing aerial or buried fiber optic cables to industry standards and manufacturer specifications. A critical requirement is the ability to respond on-site to emergency outage requests within one hour, at any time of day, and maintain standby crews and equipment within a reasonable distance of Clemson University to meet this response time. The contractor must also be a current member in good standing of the Corning Cable Systems' LANscape(r) Network of Preferred Installers (NPI).
