Description
Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a contractor to renovate and modernize the existing Elevator #2 at Orchard Grove Elementary School. The work includes demolition of existing elevator equipment and wiring; furnishing and installing a new power unit, controller, door-operation components, signal fixtures, inspection equipment, and related elevator systems; and cleaning, refurbishing, or reusing designated existing components such as the car sling, platform, entrance frames, guide rails, hydraulic jack, pit buffer assemblies, and limit switches. The scope also includes associated shaftway, machine-room, structural, electrical, telephone, ventilation, fire-rating, waterproofing, safety, permitting, and code-compliance work, plus an add alternate for electrical power-supply upgrades, dedicated circuits, emergency-power provisions, telephone connection, and required smoke sensors. The contractor must provide a technical proposal describing experience, project approach, understanding of Maryland elevator requirements, and three similar-project references; Maryland business and elevator contractor licenses; and a manufacturer authorization letter. The project includes a two-year labor and material warranty, a 5% bid bond, and 100% performance and payment bonds after award.
