Description
The Village of Schaumburg is soliciting bids for Phase 1 painting work at its Vehicle Maintenance Facility. The scope includes surface preparation, abrasive blasting, repairs, priming, and finish coatings for ceilings, walls, exposed structural and mechanical systems, piping, doors and frames, bollards, handrails, concrete, plywood panels and racks, mezzanine surfaces, overhead door jambs, soffits, vents, downspouts, and other designated interior and exterior surfaces. The facility must remain operational, requiring phased work, temporary protection, dust control, cleanup, and coordination around ongoing operations. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, lifts, scaffolding, ventilation, protection, waste containers, hauling, and disposal. Specified coating systems include Sherwin-Williams industrial primers and finishes, with designated color schemes and no substitutions for certain products. The bid includes separate lump-sum components for the facility bays and exterior work. A 10% bid security is required, and the successful bidder must provide a performance bond equal to 100% of the contract amount before work begins. Three municipal government references and a completed Detail Exceptions Sheet are required with the bid response.
