Description
Atlantic County is soliciting per-trip prisoner transportation and extradition services for transport to and from locations throughout the continental United States, as directed by the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office. The contractor must provide transportation by vehicle, air, or another approved method; coordinate pickups and deliveries; maintain prisoner security and custody; provide restraints, meals, lodging when necessary, medical coordination, documentation, and incident notifications; and transport prisoners to or from the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing, New Jersey when applicable. The contractor must have at least three years of prisoner-transport experience, an operational ground transportation system available 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and 365 days per year, at least ten properly equipped vans, and a minimum of two transport agents for each mode of transportation. Personnel must have appropriate training, background checks, fingerprints, licensing, uniforms, identification, and corrections or law-enforcement experience. Vehicles must provide secure separation of drivers and prisoners, separate male and female compartments, communications, climate control, and other specified safety features. The contract term is October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with an option for one additional year. Mandatory insurance includes workers' compensation, general liability, motor vehicle liability, umbrella/excess liability, and professional liability coverage.
