Description
The City is soliciting construction bids for two neighborhood street resurfacing projects. Work includes surface milling and Superpave asphalt paving, pavement pulverization and replacement, concrete sidewalk and driveway work, and concrete curb and gutter work. The bid schedule also includes related roadway items such as pavement repairs, ramps, markings, traffic control, and allowances. Bidders must meet the City’s prequalification requirements for asphalt paving heavy maintenance or have applied for prequalification on time. A bid bond equal to 5% of the bidder’s maximum bid price is required. The bid package also requires a small-business utilization form and small-business certificates; the project documents state a 30% small-business goal for contracts of $100,000 or more. The contractor must self-perform at least 35% of the contract value unless the City approves otherwise. The stated construction period is 210 days after the Contract Time begins.
