Description
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is requesting a quote for one-time ceiling work in an administration building. The scope includes removing six ceiling-mounted electrical fixtures—two ceiling fans and four eight-foot surface-mounted fluorescent lights—terminating and covering the electrical boxes, abating approximately 441 square feet of acoustic ceiling tile adhesive containing trace asbestos, and repairing, patching, and skim-coating approximately 441 square feet of plaster ceiling coated with lead-based paint. The contractor must comply with applicable asbestos and lead regulations, provide containment and protection for the work area, coordinate with an air-monitoring company provided by others, maintain a clean site, and complete the work within 30 days after purchase-order approval. The prime contractor or subcontractor disturbing lead-based paint must hold EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting certification, and the prime contractor or subcontractor performing asbestos abatement must hold New York State licensed asbestos-abatement-contractor certification. Prevailing-wage requirements, New York contractor registration, insurance requirements, and applicable safety-plan obligations also apply. Pricing must be itemized on the provided RFQ form; additional forms are required if the quote is $15,000 or more.
