Description
The Schuylerville-Victory Board of Water Management seeks qualified New York attorneys or law firms to serve as ongoing General Legal Counsel for the joint water system serving the Villages of Schuylerville and Victory. The scope includes municipal and intermunicipal law, board governance, water-system regulatory compliance, customer and service matters, procurement and contracting, infrastructure and capital projects, grants and project funding, claims, disputes, and authorized litigation support. The Board prefers a predictable fixed monthly retainer covering ordinary and recurring services, including routine consultations, document review and drafting, procurement and regulatory advice, legal research, and requested attendance at regular Board meetings. Proposals must identify the assigned attorney or legal team, relevant municipal and water-system experience, at least three professional references, conflicts of interest, professional liability insurance, and a proposed monthly retainer with any excluded services and additional compensation clearly stated. The initial appointment is anticipated to run for one year and may be renewed annually.
