Description
This presolicitation synopsis concerns a planned competitive requirement for the regular overhaul and dry docking of USNS John Lewis (T-AO 205), with ship repair availability tentatively planned for July 2027 at a contractor shipyard in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility. The anticipated work includes dry docking and undocking, hull and structural repairs and preservation, propulsion and auxiliary machinery maintenance, electrical and communications systems work, fire protection and safety systems, habitability and HVAC work, inspections and certifications, underwater hull work, and related shipyard support. Interested ship repair firms must submit a capability statement on company letterhead describing their firm and ability to perform a major ship repair overhaul. The statement should address relevant work corresponding to the Work Item Index, contract type and dollar value of prior work, employee count, years in business, website if applicable, and experience repairing U.S. Navy ships. Responses are limited to five pages or fewer. This notice is for market research and capability information only; it is not a solicitation and will not result in a contract award.
