Description
The 97th Civil Engineer Squadron at Altus Air Force Base requires a commercial-grade, automatic, vehicle-mounted direct-source diesel filtration system manufactured by Ward Diesel. The specified NO SMOKE system must capture exhaust at the vehicle source without hanging hoses, operate hands-free and automatically, comply with OSHA, NIOSH, and NFPA air-quality standards, and use ceramic diesel particulate filters to trap particulates and gases. The requirement is tied to a United States Government patent and identifies the Ward Diesel NO SMOKE model. The system is intended for two structural firefighting trucks: a 2009 Pierce Saber 2WD truck and a 2011 KME 4WD truck. Interested sources must submit a capability statement containing technical data, cost information, and sufficient evidence demonstrating the ability to meet the salient characteristics. Funds are not currently available, and the notice states that the intended award is sole source to Ward Diesel.
