Description
The Navy seeks a complete stem assembly for a 1-inch ball valve, built to the referenced Newport News and General Dynamics drawings. The assembly includes a stem, retaining nut, and bushing, with specified alloy and heat-treatment requirements, modified stem dimensions, and a nylon plug. The stem requires chemical and mechanical material analysis and annealing and age-hardening test certification; the retaining nut has a specified bronze alloy. A slow-strain-rate tensile test must be performed by one of the listed laboratories. This is designated Level I/SUBSAFE special-emphasis material for a critical shipboard system. The supplier must meet detailed inspection, traceability, material-certification, marking, quality-system, and government source-inspection requirements. Past performance will be considered in evaluating offers. The solicitation is a total small-business set-aside.
