Description
The Navy seeks a parts kit for a 3-inch ball valve: one ball and two matching seats, manufactured to the cited Naval Sea Systems Command drawing. The ball must use specified titanium material, and the seats must use specified Torlon materials. The ball requires hydrostatic testing or, where permitted, dye penetrant inspection; additional nondestructive testing and certifications apply as specified. The ball and seats also have detailed coating, marking, material traceability, and certification requirements. This is designated special-emphasis material for a critical shipboard system. The solicitation requires a valid U.S. security clearance of Confidential or higher to respond because a classified annex is available only to appropriately cleared offerors.
