Description
Goochland County is soliciting a contractor through an Invitation for Bid to perform a focused, system-wide fire hydrant maintenance initiative. The scope includes painting publicly owned and participating privately owned fire hydrants, conducting limited inspections to verify basic condition and operability, documenting deficiencies, and addressing minor deficiencies as specified in the solicitation. Major deficiencies and repairs beyond the defined scope must be documented and reported to the County's Department of Public Utilities for evaluation and corrective action. The initiative is intended to establish a consistent baseline condition, improve hydrant visibility and identification, verify basic operational readiness, and support the County's ongoing fire hydrant maintenance and asset management program.
