ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS TOWN OF NEWFILED NEWFIELD, NEW YORK SEELEY HILL ROAD STREAM STABLILIZATION General Notice Town of Newfield is requesting Bids for the construction of the following project: Seeley Hill Road Stream Stabilization Sealed bids are requested for a single prime contract to be received by the Town of Newfield located at 166 Main Street, Newfield, NY 14867, until October 15, 2026, at 4:00 pm local time. At 4:05pm, the Bids will be publicly opened and read. The Project includes the following work: The Projects consists of stream stabilization and culvert replacement work on Seely Hill Road in the Town of Newfield, as shown in drawings prepared by Tioga County Soil and Water Conservation District. Project includes the construction of a 145’ long stacked rock wall, construction of a 124’ stacked rock, 7 cross vanes, removal and replacement of two cross culverts, installation of two rock riffles and associated headwalls/wingwalls for the culverts. Description

The Town of Newfield is soliciting bids for stream stabilization and culvert replacement on Seely Hill Road. The work includes mobilization and demobilization, dewatering, construction of 145-foot and 124-foot stacked-rock walls, installation of six upstream and one downstream rock cross vanes, construction of rock riffles, and removal and replacement of two cross culverts with larger corrugated HDPE culverts, stone bedding, headwalls, wing walls, and backfill. The Town will purchase the 48-inch and 36-inch culvert pipe; the contractor will provide the specified stone, geotextile fabric, dewatering, labor, equipment, and related construction work. Bidders must attend the mandatory bidder's meeting, submit a completed bid form, signature page, rate sheet, and required certifications, and provide certificates of insurance with the bid. A performance and payment bond is required of the successful contractor. The project is subject to applicable federal labor standards, Davis-Bacon requirements, and New York prevailing-wage requirements.
