Description
The Mass Transportation Authority is soliciting proposals for an AI-enabled driver behavior vehicle camera system for up to 311 large buses, paratransit buses, and smaller transportation vehicles. The system must continuously capture activity in front of the vehicle and inside the driver's cab, operate independently of existing onboard camera systems without disabling or interfering with them, and support professional installation, including hardwiring where required. Required capabilities include secure cloud-based video storage and retrieval, AI detection of speeding, stop-sign violations, following-distance violations, hard braking, eating or drinking, mobile-device use, drowsiness, unsafe lane changes, forward-collision warnings, seat-belt violations, rapid acceleration, and in-cab smoking. The system must provide real-time driver and management alerts, driver safety scoring and ranking, a password-protected driver interface with violation clips and coaching guidance, and manager notifications for major events. Training is required, and the anticipated completion date is March 12, 2027. Live video and panic-button functionality may be offered only as optional features; alternate responses are not accepted.
