Description
The City of Vancouver is soliciting bids for public-works construction to improve Hazel Dell Avenue between the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail termini. The work includes an approximately 800-foot, 10-foot-wide pervious-concrete multi-use path on the west side of Hazel Dell Avenue, ADA ramps, a rectangular rapid flashing beacon system, two luminaires, sidewalk and curb improvements, signing and striping, traffic control, erosion control, landscaping, drainage adjustments, and related roadway work. The engineer's estimate is $550,000. The contract must be physically completed within 75 working days after the Notice to Proceed. The project is federally aided and includes Davis-Bacon and Washington prevailing-wage requirements, a 7% Federal Small Business Enterprise goal, a 5% bid security requirement, and mandatory payment and performance bonds for the full contract amount. The solicitation also requires the contractor to self-perform at least 30% of the original contract price, excluding specialty items.
