Description
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), through its Division of Waste Management (DWM), is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a three-year contract for bottled water and associated services. This service is intended for North Carolina residents whose water supply is contaminated or has unsafe concentrations of contaminants, as determined by the state's toxicologists. Residents will be added or removed from the service list based on risk assessments, availability of alternate water sources, and certification by DWM regional offices. The contract aims to include sustainability features in accordance with industry standards, aligning with Governor Cooper's Executive Order 80. The vendor must be capable of providing services to all 100 counties in North Carolina on an as-needed basis. The contract term is for an initial period of three years, beginning on the effective date of the contract. The vendor will be responsible for delivering bottled water within 96 hours of notification and coordinating directly with recipients for delivery and pickup of bottles and equipment. The scope includes providing 5-gallon or 3-gallon FDA-approved PET-plastic bottles, room-temperature dispensers, and potentially cooler stands. The vendor must also be a registered North Carolina vendor in good standing and comply with all state and federal requirements.
