Description
Nevada County is soliciting bids for snow removal, snowpack removal, and sanding services. These services are required for various county facilities located in Truckee, California, and along Floriston Road in Eastern Nevada County. The solicitation may result in one or more contracts, potentially one for each service area (Floriston Road and County Facilities), or a single contract if deemed in the best interest of the County. The services will be provided on an as-needed basis, with snow plowing operations to commence when snow exceeds four inches in depth. Sanding services are required when roads are wet and temperatures are below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, or when snowpack or ice is present, or when instructed by county officials or the California Highway Patrol. Snowpack removal will occur after fresh snow has been cleared. Contracts will be valid for an initial term of one year, with an option to renew for up to four additional one-year terms. Bidders are required to provide a 24-hour contact number and ensure their equipment is in compliance with all state and local air quality requirements. Prevailing wage requirements will apply to this public works project.
