Description
Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), operating Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is issuing a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought notice for firms capable of producing Electron Storage Ring (ESR) D1-D3 Dipole Magnets and ESR D2 Dipole Magnets. These magnets are critical components for the Electron Ion Collider (EIC) project, a nuclear physics facility designed to collide electron and ion beams. The solicitation outlines detailed technical specifications and statements of work for both types of dipole magnets, covering requirements for design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and delivery. Key aspects include the use of high-quality laminated steel, specific coil winding and insulation procedures, and rigorous quality assurance measures.
