Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service Commodity Procurement Program has issued an updated Master Invitation for Bids for International Commodity Procurements (MIFB-I), effective August 28, 2026. The master invitation establishes the clauses, provisions, and general guidance for future invitations covering agricultural commodities used in international food assistance programs, including Food for Peace, Food for Progress, and McGovern-Dole Food for Education. Future invitations will identify the specific commodity, quantities, delivery periods, destinations, closing time, acceptance date, and any additional requirements. Potential procurements may include grains, rice, oils, pulses, dairy ingredients, prepared food products, therapeutic or supplementary foods, canned salmon, bags, and related commodities. Products generally must be of U.S. origin, with specified packaging, food-safety, inspection, quality, delivery, shipping, and documentation requirements. Bids must be submitted electronically through the Web Based Supply Chain Management system, and resulting purchase orders and shipping-related actions will be managed there.
