Description
The U.S. Navy intends to award a stand-alone firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance, repair, and preservation of the 153-foot, 82-year-old, steel-hulled YRBM-50. The contractor must operate a facility capable of accommodating the vessel's 153-foot length, 43-foot width, six-foot draft, and displacement requirements, and the facility must be located in the defined Puget Sound region. The scope includes docking and undocking; washing and cleaning; inspections and fender repairs; zinc-anode replacement; ultrasonic plating-thickness measurements and repairs; blast and paint preservation; exterior-deck non-skid installation; inspection, cleaning, ventilation, testing, and preservation of 24 ballast tanks and voids; watertight hatch, door, access-cover, deck, hawse-hole, bolster, and hull-fendering repairs; potable-water-system disinfection and certification; CHT-tank cleaning; dock trials; and redline drawings reflecting actual vessel conditions. Required modifications include hot-water-heater installation, awning replacement, air-conditioning plant replacement and backup systems, switchboard upgrades, 1MC and telephone-system upgrades, and CCTV upgrades. The vessel availability is scheduled for March 31, 2027, through March 31, 2028. The procurement is a 100% small-business set-aside under NAICS 336611. Amendment 0002 clarifies that the exterior chill boxes will remain in place and be protected during preservation, corrects a drawing reference, supplies additional drawings, and extends the proposal deadline to October 26, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
