Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for scrub seal pavement preservation on approximately 12.2 miles of Hodges Road, Route X-81021, from milepost 0.0 to 12.2. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals to clean the roadway and cracks, produce, haul, place, roll, broom, and sweep approximately 171,776 square yards of scrub seal. The work includes furnishing Type 1 chips, approximately 326 tons of polymer-modified rejuvenating emulsion, a water truck, and a suitable scrub broom. The contractor is also responsible for establishing the centerline, placing reflective tabs, temporary pavement markings, traffic-control planning and operations, required permits, erosion and sediment controls, material certifications, and private-property damage claims. The Department will provide traffic control and final striping. Bids must be submitted through the eMACS Items tab. The estimated line items are mobilization, 171,776 square yards of Type 1 chips, and 326 tons of polymer-modified rejuvenating emulsion. The work must be completed by June 18, 2027, with scrub sealing completed within three continuous working days of commencement and sweeping completed within one additional day. A bid proposal security equal to 10% of the total bid is required when the total bid is $150,000 or more. The contractor must be registered with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry before contract execution and must comply with Montana prevailing-wage requirements.
