Description
The project includes drainage improvements along the park road to reduce roadway slope erosion and protect roadway slopes near existing large culverts at Rush Creek. Work includes riprap bank stabilization, articulated concrete block installation, asphalt paving and milling, concrete pavement reconstruction and patching, drainage structure installation, pavement markings, curb and curb turnouts, wood bollards, erosion control, and maintenance of traffic. The plans also require maintaining at least one lane of traffic during construction and access to the park and campground. Bidders must hold a current Certificate of Qualification from the Public Works Certification Board in one of the specified classifications. The bid package must include a bid bond equal to at least 10% of the bid, including additive alternates. The contractor must perform at least 15% of the work with its own forces. The project has a 3% IVOSB participation goal, and the specifications also identify MBE and WBE participation requirements. The notice specifies construction completion by August 15, 2027; the project specifications separately state substantial completion by August 20, 2027, so the completion dates conflict. The specifications also identify an intermediate completion date of July 30, 2027.
