Description
The State of Tennessee is soliciting bids for a turnkey project at Chickasaw Lake Lajoie Dam involving demolition and disposal of the existing stem, approximately 10 cubic yards of dredging to expose the riser gate, repairs needed for safe operation of the riser gate and spillway control mechanisms, and furnishing and installing a new stainless-steel stem, thrust blocks, jam nuts, brackets, and associated equipment or actuator. The contractor must verify operability, demonstrate safe operation to park staff, provide training, remove debris, coordinate work with park personnel, and leave the site in finished condition. The work must be performed on site between receipt of the purchase order and January 1, 2027, with the event materials also requiring confirmation that all work can be completed by February 1, 2027. Applicable Tennessee contractor licenses are required for the contractor and subcontractors. Subcontracting requires prior written approval, and the bid must include subcontractor information if subcontractors are proposed. A payment bond equal to 25% of the maximum liability is required under the contract, although the solicitation's maximum-liability amount is left as a placeholder. Required insurance includes workers' compensation and employer liability, commercial general liability, and automobile liability coverage.
