Description
The Bureau of Justice Assistance is seeking applications for the FY 2026 Justice Reinvestment Initiative. The grant program supports state, local, and federally recognized tribal governments in identifying urgent justice-system challenges, reducing wasteful or inefficient spending, and redirecting resources toward strategies and populations most likely to reduce crime and recidivism. Proposed projects may address challenges across law enforcement, prosecution, sentencing, jails and prisons, probation, and parole. The opportunity is a discretionary grant with awards ranging from $0 to $4,000,000 and no cost-sharing or matching requirement.
