Description
Harford County is soliciting bids for maintenance dredging of Gunpowder River, Taylor Creek, and the Rumsey Island Outfall Dredge Area. The work includes furnishing all plant, materials, equipment, supplies, labor, and transportation, and performing the work in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Approximately 3,926 cubic yards of dredged material will be transported and placed at the Mariner Point Park Dredged Material Placement Site. The project includes a channel approximately 5,620 feet long and an approximately 8,750-square-foot Rumsey Outfall area, with dredging depths of approximately 5.5 feet and 5 feet at mean low water, respectively. The contractor must meet the N-2 dredging prequalification requirement and hold a Maryland Marine Contractor's License. The project requires prevailing-wage compliance, sediment and erosion-control measures, regulatory notifications before work begins, and performance and payment bonds. The wetlands license authorizes periodic maintenance dredging over a six-year period, subject to environmental restrictions, including no dredging from February 15 through October 15.
