Description
The Maine Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for construction of a multi-use path beginning at the Route 1/Billy Vachon Drive intersection and extending along Lincoln Street and Broadway to the Broadway/Evans Street intersection in South Portland. The work includes excavation, aggregate subbase, hot-mix asphalt paving, curb ramps with detectable warning fields, curbing, culverts, catch basins, underdrains, riprap, erosion-control measures, loam, seeding, and mulch. Additional work includes chain-link and stockade fencing, regulatory and construction signage, removal and resetting of signs, traffic control devices, flaggers and traffic officers, utility coordination, mobilization, and maintenance of traffic. The contract completion date is June 30, 2028. Federal-aid requirements apply, including DBE documentation, Davis-Bacon labor standards, a 30% minimum self-performance requirement, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount.
