Description
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Sciences (BIDLS), Division of Global Populations and Infectious Disease Prevention (Division) seeks to establish a network of licensed medical facilities with the clinical expertise and capacity to assure access to, and provide quality services for, outpatient diagnosis, medical management, and engagement and retention in care for persons at risk for tuberculosis (TB). MDPH will purchase early, barrier-free access to TB outpatient services by assuring prompt access for patients regardless of insurance status, defining standards of care, and allowing flexibility at the facility level to develop a model that draws on available and developing capacity and expertise. MDPH will pay patient visit co-pays and serve as the payer of last resort for underinsured or uninsured patients receiving TB outpatient services.
