Description
The U.S. Army is conducting market research to identify vendors capable of manufacturing and supplying commercial-grade neodymium rare earth magnets for brushless direct-current motors used in small uncrewed aircraft systems. The requirement covers N52SH magnets, preferred, or N42SH magnets, acceptable, with triple-layer nickel-copper-nickel plating and radially magnetized arc-segment geometry. Three magnet size profiles are identified for 3115, 2807, and 2407 motor sizes, with 14 pieces per motor and specified dimensional tolerances. Respondents must describe manufacturing capacity, surge capability, ability to supply both grades and custom variations, upstream supply-chain transparency, logistics-risk mitigation, material testing, plating verification, dimensional inspection, and quality-control processes. Responses must be capability statements in bullet format, limited to 10 pages, submitted in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word format using at least 10-point font.
