Description
The County of Suffolk Department of Public Works is soliciting sealed bids for federally funded improvements to County Road 83, Patchogue–Mount Sinai Road, in the Town of Brookhaven. The work includes pavement milling, resurfacing, and full-depth pavement repairs; repair or replacement of deteriorated drainage structures, pipes, frames, and grates; curb and pedestrian-facility improvements, including PROWAG- and MUTCD-compliant curb ramp replacement; damaged or substandard guiderail replacement; new pavement markings; and replacement of traffic signal and traffic count loops. This is a FHWA-funded construction project governed by the current New York State Department of Transportation Standard Specifications. A certified check or bid bond of at least 5% of the total base bid is required. Bidders must register with the Suffolk County Department of Public Works Purchasing Unit and with the New York State Department of Labor before submitting a bid. The project has EEO participation goals of 5.8% minorities and 6.9% women, but no DBE, MBE, WBE, or SDVOB goals. Bids must be delivered in person in a sealed envelope by the stated deadline.
