Description
NASA Langley Research Center seeks a KRÜSS DSA100E automated drop-shape analyzer for contact-angle, surface and interfacial tension, and surface-free-energy measurements. The specified system includes a high-resolution, high-speed camera; automated sample positioning and liquid dosing; a sample stage and illumination; and software modules for contact-angle analysis, surface and interfacial tension, and surface-free-energy calculations. A Windows 11 Pro computer is also specified, with KRÜSS ADVANCE software pre-installed if the software modules are purchased separately. The purchase includes factory-trained, on-site installation and basic user training covering instrument operation, hardware and software, data management, sample preparation, analysis, and instrument adjustments. The instrument has a two-year warranty provided through the computer manufacturer. The vendor must also provide a completed NASA software entitlement report within five business days of the purchase order. The notice states that NASA intends to procure the analyzer from KRÜSS Scientific Instruments, Inc. as a sole-source acquisition; responses are capability statements for consideration of whether to compete the procurement, not quotes.
