Description
The City of Hampton is soliciting bids from VDOT-prequalified contractors for reconstruction of Little Back River Road under VDOT Project No. U000-114-315 / UPC 109304 and Federal Aid Project No. STP-5A03(997). The work includes pedestrian facilities on both sides of the road: an asphalt shared-use path between Lamington Road and Oakville Road and a concrete sidewalk between Riverchase Drive and the existing sidewalk between Rosewood Drive and Westphal Drive. The bid schedule includes mobilization, maintenance of traffic, surveying, clearing and grubbing, erosion and sediment control, soil stabilization, pavement demolition and excavation, aggregate and asphalt pavement, concrete sidewalks and curb ramps, curbs and gutters, drainage structures and pipe, water service laterals, signs, pavement markings, and six solar-powered wireless rectangular rapid flashing beacon assemblies. Bidders must be VDOT-prequalified, submit a 5% bid bond, and provide 100% performance and payment bonds after award. The project has a zero-percent DBE goal and requires compliance with federal-aid, prevailing-wage, quality-assurance, domestic-content, insurance, and traffic-control requirements.
