Description
Brevard County seeks a contractor to provide labor, equipment, materials, and trucking for on-site crushing of stockpiled concrete at county solid waste facilities. Work includes removing and separately stockpiling rebar and other metals, crushing concrete to a minimum 3-inch-minus size, using magnets to recover additional metal, and moving crushed material to a designated stockpile area. The contractor may retain and must remove and dispose of recovered metal. Pricing is per ton and must account for mobilization, on-site work, fuel, shutdown, and tiered quantities; the County does not guarantee minimum or maximum volumes. The contract term is five years. The contractor must provide certified scale weights and weight tickets, comply with facility operating rules, and respond to service orders within 72 hours. The crushing unit must be EPA-approved for air-quality control, and a DEP air-pollution permit is required if equipment remains at a site longer than six months. Insurance is required, including general liability, auto liability, and workers’ compensation; professional liability applies if the work involves professional or consulting services. The bid package also requires a completed price sheet and specified bid forms and certifications.
