Description
The City of Douglas is soliciting a contractor to perform asbestos abatement and complete demolition of two vacant residential structures at 401 Sellers Street and 808 South Gaskin Avenue. The scope includes removal and disposal of identified asbestos-containing materials and other hazardous materials, including mercury switches, fluorescent lamps and ballasts, lead-containing materials, and regulated demolition waste. The contractor must provide labor, supervision, equipment, transportation, permits, notifications, disposal, utility disconnections, containment, air monitoring where required, and final clearance documentation. The work also includes demolition of the structures and, unless otherwise directed, their foundations, slabs, porches, steps, and footings; debris removal; site protection; dust suppression; backfilling, compaction, grading, and drainage restoration. Work must comply with EPA NESHAP, OSHA, Georgia EPD, and local requirements, and must be performed by a qualified, Georgia-licensed asbestos abatement contractor. A performance bond equal to 100% of the contract price is required with the bid, and the bid package requires three copies of the submission.
