Description
The City of Spokane is soliciting activated powder carbon on an as-needed basis over a five-year period, with historical usage indicating an estimated total requirement of 306,000 pounds. The product is supplied in bags weighing approximately 900 pounds each. The carbon must be made from 100% virgin, coal-based, non-halogenated carbon; have moisture content below 8% by weight, more than 95% passing a 325 sieve, an iodine value above 400 mg/g, BET surface area above 450 m2/g, and an auto-ignition temperature above 400°C. Bags must have a 20-inch discharge diameter, 36-inch discharge length, an 8-inch discharge-spout tie point below the bag bottom, and a 50-inch height. The technical specification sheet identifies these requirements as pass/fail and requires the bidder to initial confirmation that the offered product complies.
