Description
Johnson County is soliciting electronic bids for concrete and asphalt paving improvements at the New Century Adult Detention Center. The project includes a base bid and two alternates covering mobilization, traffic control and phasing, demolition and haul-off, erosion control, aggregate base, asphalt base and surface courses, milling and overlay, concrete curb and gutter, concrete flumes, pavement markings, crack filling and double-coat seal coating, and removal and resetting of an existing light pole. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, debris disposal, traffic control, phasing, and related incidentals, while maintaining continuous access to the facility. The bid must be submitted electronically through IonWave and include a 5% bid bond issued by a surety licensed in Kansas and payable to the Board of County Commissioners of Johnson County. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required for bid eligibility. The project schedule states a construction start date of October 29, 2026, and substantial completion by June 1, 2027. The addendum clarifies that fine millings remain on site while bulky debris must be removed and legally disposed of, and adds pre-bid notes and an attendance list. Performance and statutory payment bonds, insurance, and certain tax-clearance documents are post-award requirements.
