Description
The Alabama Port Authority seeks dredging of Lower Harbor berths to the specified depths, with an estimated 235,000 cubic yards of material removed at a target production rate of 12,000 cubic yards per day. Work includes dredging at McDuffie Terminal Docks 1 and 2, APM Terminal’s north and south berths, and Pinto Terminal; a bid additive covers McDuffie Terminal Dock 3. Dredged material must be transported by barge to the Mobile Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site, and the contractor must coordinate operations to minimize disruption to vessel and terminal traffic. The contractor must provide independent, licensed third-party before- and after-dredging hydrographic surveys, disposal-area surveys, turbidity monitoring, and required safety, environmental, and quality-control plans and records. The awarded contractor must be ready to start no later than January 15, 2027; the work must be completed within 60 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. A bid guarantee of 5% of the bid, capped at $10,000, is required. Performance and labor-and-material bonds of at least 100% of the contract price are required after award.
