Description
The City of Mobile is soliciting sealed bids for the 2024 PAYGO Resurfacing Commission District 3 – Part 2 project, consisting of resurfacing, restoration, rehabilitation, grading, base work, and paving of Shipyard Road from Higgins Road to Crown Drive. The project is bid excluding taxes and requires compliance with applicable Alabama public-works and tax requirements, prevailing wage rates, and the 2026 Alabama Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction provisions concerning liquidated damages. Bidders must be licensed Alabama contractors with a Municipal & Utility (MU) or Highways & Streets (HS) major classification and must not be disqualified from bidding on Alabama Department of Transportation projects. A 5% bid bond or certified check is required, capped at $10,000; the successful bidder must provide a performance bond for the amount bid, a 100% labor and material bond, and specified insurance at contract signing. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference is required, and the bid must be submitted on the provided proposal form with all required papers and addenda included.
