Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI) only, issued for market research purposes to identify potential offerors capable of operating and meeting the unique requirements for full food service support at the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Training Center (TRACEN) Cape May, NJ. The dining facility provides meals 365 days a year to support Coast Guard personnel, primarily recruits. The USCG is seeking information on industry capabilities to build a contractual solution for this need. Baseline requirements include receiving, storing, preparing, and serving food for three meals a day, 365 days a year; menu development meeting USCG nutritional standards and the "Go for Green Program"; quality control; personnel management with qualified and uniformed staff; administrative, custodial, and sanitation functions; and operating and performing minor maintenance on food service equipment. Unique requirements include managing two dining halls (recruit and permanent party), providing special meals (e.g., "Prime Meals," pizza parties, boxed meals), offering multiple entree choices per meal with a full salad bar, utilizing "progressive cooking" for freshness, ensuring all contractor personnel pass a background check with specific experience/education for key personnel, and adhering to strict sanitation and housekeeping standards. The anticipated contract type is a 5-year fixed-price indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract.
