The US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Ground Vehicle Systems Center (DEVCOM GVSC) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to identify and qualify vendors for additive manufacturing (AM) processes and materials for Army ground applications. The goal is to qualify AM as an alternative manufacturing method for legacy parts where original suppliers or traditional methods are no longer available. The RFI covers all metal AM modalities including laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), wire directed energy deposition (W-DED), powder directed energy deposition (P-DED), and binder jet additive manufacturing (BJAM). Prioritized materials include steel alloys (e.g., PH17-4, 316L, 42CrMo4) and high-strength aluminum alloys (e.g., Al10MgSi, AlSi7Mg06). Respondents must provide quasistatic mechanical performance data, build quality evidence, and process control documentation. Mechanical testing must be performed by a third-party certified lab (ISO17025 or NADCAP). Submissions must include CAGE code and be sent in Microsoft Excel format.
