Description
The City seeks a qualified, licensed contractor to repair the Volunteer Park Y Bridge and Island Bridge. Work includes replacing existing bridge decking and handrails, repairing substructure damage such as spalled concrete piles, and furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and related work needed to complete the improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications. The bridges’ superstructures include timber framing and composite decking; the bid schedule specifies replacement timber decking, joists, handrail components, and stainless-steel hardware. Bidders must hold a current, valid Marine Specialty Contractor or General Building Contractor license and demonstrate at least five years of similar experience, including three verifiable completed projects with references. A mandatory site visit is required, with either of two scheduled dates available. The bid requires a 5% bid bond, and the successful contractor must provide a 100% public construction bond. The work is to be substantially completed within 120 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with final completion within 30 additional days.
