Description
The contractor will provide a one-time training program for up to 30 Norfolk Naval Shipyard personnel who handle radioactive and mixed-waste shipping. The program must include at least 40 hours of instruction: 32 hours on Department of Transportation requirements, four hours on load securement, and four hours on International Air Transport Association requirements. Testing must be provided in all required areas under 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H. The contractor must secure an offsite training venue in the local travel vicinity, provide students with the latest copies of 49 CFR Parts 100–177 and 178–199 and the Dangerous Goods Regulations, and notify government points of contact of training details at least two weeks before training begins. The training is to be completed by December 1, 2026; the one-week performance period must fall between November 16, 2026, and November 15, 2027.
