Description
This Request for Information seeks technical and commercial information from manufacturers, system integrators, distributors, battery test-equipment suppliers, battery service providers, and qualified recycling and disposal providers. The agency is evaluating solutions for lithium-ion and nickel-cadmium vehicle batteries used in its light rail fleet, including charging and discharging, load and capacity testing, diagnostics, condition assessment, repair, rebuilding, replacement battery supply, and compliant end-of-life recycling and disposal. Responses will help the agency understand available technologies, services, integration approaches, facility requirements, lifecycle support, and realistic budget estimates for a potential future solicitation. The RFI seeks information on technical architectures and equipment, safety and compliance, facility requirements, testing and reporting, repair and remanufacturing, recycling and chain of custody, installation and acceptance testing, training, warranties, calibration, support, lead times, and budgetary pricing. This is market research and does not itself commit the agency to purchase or award a contract.
