Description
The State of Michigan is soliciting construction services for remedial excavation at the NuWay Cleaners Site. The work includes surveying and wet-saw removal of existing concrete pavement; excavation, transportation, and disposal of PCE-impacted soil, including potentially hazardous U210-listed waste; excavation of test pits; backfilling with environmentally clean MDOT Class II sand; compaction and density testing; and concrete pavement restoration. If underground storage tanks are encountered, the contractor must open and inspect them, characterize and dispose of contents, and perform either in-place closure or removal under the applicable alternate. The scope also includes site services, waste characterization and documentation, decontamination, erosion and sedimentation controls, traffic control, health and safety planning, environmental testing, surveying, and project closeout. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site tour are required, and bids must be submitted electronically through SIGMA VSS. A five-percent bid guarantee is required; performance and payment bonds are required for contracts over $50,000.
