Description
Carson City is soliciting sealed bids for the North Lompa Lane Multi-Use Path Extension Project. The work includes constructing approximately 1,130 feet of multi-use path linking Modoc Court to U.S. 50 and widening the sidewalk along the south side of U.S. 50 between the I-580 interchange and Lompa Lane. Related work includes pavement and concrete removal and replacement, earthwork, aggregate base, asphalt pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, curb ramps, bicycle ramps, fencing, signs, pavement markings, lighting conduit and conductors, storm drainage, landscaping, irrigation, traffic control, stormwater pollution prevention, surveying, and record drawings. The project is federally funded through the Federal Highway Administration's Transportation Alternatives Program and is subject to Davis-Bacon and Nevada prevailing-wage requirements, Build America, Buy America Act requirements, and a 0% DBE and 0-hour OJT goal. The contractor must complete the work within 48 working days after the written Notice to Proceed; the anticipated Notice to Proceed and construction start are in October 2026. A bid bond equal to at least 5% of the base bid is required, while performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract amount are required before contract execution. The engineer's estimate is $780,000. Addendum 1 confirms that DBE-related information and documents are not required because the project has no DBE goal. It also states that CAD files will be provided after receipt of a signed Design CAD Release Agreement.
