The County of San Diego is seeking a single turnkey contractor to provide two replacement production-grade digital presses for its centralized print shop. The scope includes a one-time purchase of the equipment, delivery, installation, network configuration, external print servers, high-capacity feeders, inline finishing modules, operator training, and secure removal and decommissioning of two legacy Xerox Versant 180 units. The equipment must support high-volume monochrome and color production, automated multi-page collated tri-folding, booklet making, creasing, duplex printing on media up to 350 gsm, simplex printing up to 400 gsm, variable-data printing, secure print release, encrypted storage, image overwrite, and County network-access-control requirements. The contractor must also provide a five-year service and maintenance agreement covering parts, labor, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, firmware updates, consumables other than paper, and automated replenishment. The agreement requires a four-business-hour on-site response time, at least 95% monthly uptime, two complete backup sets of CMYK toner on site, and direct performance of service by the organization supplying the hardware. Delivery, installation, network integration, and equipment operation must be completed by December 31, 2026, with service and maintenance beginning January 1, 2027. Quotes must include the required County forms, technical and service responses, manufacturer specification sheets, at least three comparable references from the past five years, a completed payment schedule, acceptance of the draft agreement, and any applicable confidential/proprietary exhibit.
