Description
Chesterfield County is seeking statements of qualifications from licensed architects, engineers, or teams for full-service architectural and engineering services for a new detention facility. The proposed facility will have an initial capacity of approximately 250 beds and a 330-bed core through 2050, with laundry, kitchen, intake and release, storage, maintenance, courtroom, medical, housing, central control, mental and behavioral health, observation, visitation, attorney meeting, court and transport, and property/evidence areas. The scope may include site analysis, facility design, preparation of construction bid documents, shop-drawing review, bidding assistance, construction management, construction inspection, and operating and maintenance studies. The anticipated delivery environment is construction management at risk, and the selected firm will advise on procuring a qualified general contractor. The project has an estimated $50 million budget.
